Looking after your brace

  • Excessive amounts of fruit juice for the above reason. If having fruit juice for breakfast it is best to avoiding brushing your teeth straight after, and wait for 30 minutes or so, this will minimise the acid damage.
  • Nail biting and pen chewing should be avoided.

Care to be taken when eating:

  • Apple – should be thinly sliced and chewed on the back teeth.
  • Raw carrot – should be grated.

Remember, when a brace is broken your treatment time may increase.

Please check daily that your brace is not broken. If it is, please telephone and make an appointment to come into the practice as soon as possible to repair it.
