Ceramic braces offer a subtle straightening experience which even looks good in photos. The treatment spares you discomfort with smooth surfaces and low profile brackets. The brackets don’t stain or discolour over time, but the rubber bands may do. These can be replaced during treatment, so staining doesn’t present too much of a problem.
Strong and durable
Comfortable to wear, with little irritation
Give same results as metal braces
A much more aesthetic option to metal braces
Always in, always working
The ceramic brackets don’t discolour, but the elastic bands used to keep the wire in place may do, making the braces more visible. To keep them from staining, avoid food and drink that could cause this, such as coffee, black tea, red wine, artificial food colourings and turmeric. The elastic bands can be replaced during your regular appointments, removing the staining.
Clear ceramic braces are much less noticeable than the metal equivalent and don’t draw attention to your mouth. While not as virtually invisible as clear aligners, they retain all the benefits of metal braces in a much more cosmetic way.
Ceramic braces are just as effective as the metal equivalent, although treatment may take slightly longer. Ceramic braces are also a more expensive option, but many patients choose ceramic for the aesthetic qualities.
